Video is an invaluable resource for the modern classroom environment. With its ability to demonstrate procedures, illustrate different concepts, and create a virtual communication space, Faculty are increasing their use of video in instruction and student engagement. Participants will also While video-conferencing used to require expensive equipment and expert setup, it now is available on virtually any internet-connected device.  This allows faculty and students to hold face-to-face office hours from home, bring in guest speakers, and connect with colleagues around the world.  Participants will examine how Christopher Newport University's official video-conferencing tools, Blackboard Collaborate and Google Hangouts Meet can be used to make video calls and communicate with students and faculty alike from a distance.

Before taking this module, participants should be able to:

  • Log into CNU Connect using their CNU credentials.
