Determining on Windows 10
On Windows 10, right-click on the start menu and choose System.
On the screen that comes up, the “System type” field will tell you whether you have a 32-bit or 64-bit system.
Getting SPSS
To download SPSS, Follow the link provided here. If you’re already signed in to CNU Connect, you’ll be taken directly to the folder containing the relevant files files. If not, you’ll see the Google sign-in page. Sign in with your your CNU e-mail and password. Once you have accessed the folder, select the file for the relevant operating system and download the file.

As the SPSS installer is a large file, you may get a warning that Google Drive is unable to cannot scan the file for viruses. Since this is a trusted CNU drive, click “Download anyway” anyway,” and the file will download.

- Navigate to where you downloaded the file and click IBM_SPSS_STATISTICS_2729_64-BIT_Win.exe or IBM_SPSS_STATISTICS_2629_32-BIT_Win.exe. If you aren’t already logged in as an administrator, you’ll be prompted to enter an administrator’s credentials.
- The installer will start. Click Next.
- You’ll be presented with a license agreement. Accept the agreement and click Next.
- You’ll be asked if you want to install SPSS Statistics Essentials for Python. Click yes or no and click Next. If you don’t know what Python is, you can click no.
- If you install Python, you must accept two more license agreements and click Next.
- Either way, you’ll be asked where to install SPSS. Unless you have a reason to install it somewhere other than the default, click Next.
- Then, click Install to begin the installation.
- The installation will start. It will take a few minutes.
- When it completes, you’ll be given the option to start the SPSS License Authorization Wizard. Make sure the box is checked and click Finish.
- The License Authorization Wizard will start. Choose “Concurrent user license” and click Next.
- On the next screen, enter equity.cnu.edu in the box and click Next.
- You’ll see a message that your license has been applied. Click Finish.
