Creating a Wolfram Account
Go to www.wolfram.com/siteinfo and enter your CNU email address.
You’ll then receive an e-mail from Wolfram asking you to verify your e-mail address. Click on the link in the e-mail, and your account will be automatically verified. Once you’ve done that, proceed to the directions for your specific type of installation.
Obtain a License Key
Create an account using the instructions above. Then click on this link: http://www.wolfram.com/siteinfo/homeuse/?parent_license=L3300-6392&request_type=NEW_HU_LICENSE
The license key (L3300-6392) should be automatically filled in. If not, enter it in the field indicated. Then click Continue.
You will be asked the installation method and the operating system that you’ll be using. Select either Download: Send it to me or CD Send it to me and the operating system of your home computer.
You’ll then be taken to another screen where you’ll need to enter in your personal information. At the bottom, you’ll be asked to provide proof that you’re an employee of CNU. If there’s a public-facing website that contains a department directory, you can include that. Otherwise, you should e-mail proof to orders@wolfram.com.
It may take some time for you to get an approval message. Please do not submit repeated requests.
Installing Mathematica
Windows
Click the download link in your license key e-mail or log in to your Wolfram account. Then choose “Get Downloads”. Click on the “Windows” download link for Mathematica Download Manager.
A window will pop up with information about your download. Click “Start Download”.
When your download is complete, navigate to your downloads folder and double-click the “Mathematica” file.
You may be asked if you want to run the file. Choose “Run”
A box will pop up showing the progress of the download of Mathematica. You can do other things while you wait for the complete download.
When it finishes, click Launch.
The installer will then start. Click “Next >” four times (unless you have a compelling reason to change any of the settings presented.

Then, click “Install”
Mathematica will begin installing on your computer. Click “Finish” to exit the installer.
The first time you run Mathematica, you’ll be prompted for your activation key. Enter the key that you got during the key request process and press Activate. You’ll need to be connected to the Internet to activate your software.
Accept the license agreement on the next page. You’ll then be able to use Mathematica.
Macintosh
If you haven’t already, you must allow applications from identified developers to run on your system. Click on the Apple menu and choose “System Preferences.”
Next, choose Security & Privacy.
Click the lock to allow editing of the preferences. You may have to enter your password.
Under “Allow applications downloaded from:,” choose “Mac App Store and identified developers”.
Close the window, and you’re ready to start installing the software
Click the download link in your license key e-mail or log in to your Wolfram account. Then choose “Get Downloads”.
Click on the Macintosh Mathematica Download Manager download button:
A box will pop up asking you if that’s what you want to download. Click Download.
Navigate to your download folder and double-click the Mathematica .dmg file.
Then, double-click the download manager.
Depending on your settings, you may get a warning. Choose “Open”.
Your download will start. You can do other things while it downloads.
When the dowload completes, click Launch.
The install window will come up. Drag the Mathematica symbol to the Applications folder symbol.
The Mathematica software will then install. You’ll hear a sound indicating that the install is complete.
You’ll be prompted for your activation key. Enter the key that you got during the key request process and press Activate. You’ll need to be connected to the Internet to activate your software.
