Use Delegated and Shared E-mail Accounts
Passwords to e-mail accounts should not be shared. It is a CNU and Commonwealth of Virginia IT Security policy that only individual user accounts should be used to access CNU IT systems.
ITS provides the ability to grant access to either shared or personal e-mail boxes to other users.
Requesting Access to E-mail Addresses
Submit a ticket to ITS to request delegated access to a personal or group e-mail account. The request to share access to the e-mail must come from the owner of the e-mail address:
For personal accounts, the person whose e-mail address it is.
For departmental accounts, the assigned supervisory contact for that account
For student organization accounts, the Office of Student Involvement
Accessing a Delegated E-mail Account
Once you’ve been assigned delegated access to an e-mail account, you can access the account by clicking on your profile picture or initial at the top-right corner of your e-mail box and selecting the delegated account.
