Connect my device to the "CNU-Aux" wireless network

Introduction

The "CNU-Aux" wireless network is available campus wide for Faculty and Staff that would like to connect devices such as; Streaming Media Players, SmartTVs, and other IoT devices to a wireless network. In order to connect these devices to the wireless network "CNU-Aux" please follow the steps below. The "CNU-Aux" wireless network will NOT support computers, smart phones, or tablets; please continue to connect those devices to eduroam for internet access.

 


Steps for Connecting Your Device to "CNU-Aux"

 

Step 1: Navigate to the CNU Connectivity Page

Go to the connect.cnu.edu page. From the option list, select “Begin CNU-Aux Registration”

Step 2: Registration Page

Enter you CNU email and password on the registration screen.

Step 3: Create Device

In the box that appears, enter the following information about the device you’d like to connect

  • Device Name = Enter a name of your choice

  • Device Type = From the dropdown menu select the correct device type

  • MAC Address = Enter your device's WiFi MAC Address

    • For assistance finding the MAC Address of your device please visit the manufacturer's support website 

  • Click the "Submit" button when finished

Faculty and Staff are permitted to register up to five devices.

Step 4: Record the "Connection Instructions"

After clicking the submit button you will be presented with important information required for connecting to the "CNU-Aux" wireless network. You will need this information when connecting your device to the wireless network.

  • Connect to the wireless network: CNU-Aux

    • Security type = WPA2-Personal

    • Encryption type = AES

  • Encryption "Pre Shared Key" = ************* (the key has been omitted in this document for security purposes)

Step 5: Connecting your Device to "CNU-Aux"

Follow the standard instructions for your wireless device to connect it.

If you lose or forget the connection instructions, log back into the CNU-AUX setup and click Manage Devices.
