Removing Management Configuration Profiles From Personal Apple Devices

Due to network environment changes, you may occasionally need to remove the configuration set up when connecting to the Eduroam network on an iPhone. This generally involves two steps: deleting the configuration profile and forgetting the network.

Removing the Configuration Profile

For the most accurate information on accessing your profiles for your iOS version, see this article from Apple:Install or remove configuration profiles on iPhone

  • First, go to your profile management screen.

Forgetting The Eduroam Network

Don’t forget a network that you're currently using:

  1. Go to Settings > Wi-Fi.

  2. Tap the More Info button next to the network you're using.

  3. Tap "Forget This Network," then tap "Forget" to confirm.

To forget a network that you've joined before but aren't currently using:

  1. Go to Settings > Wi-Fi.

  2. Tap "Edit" in the corner of the screen to view the networks known to your device.

  3. Take either of these actions:

    • Tap the Delete button, then tap Delete again.

    • Or tap the More Info button next to the network, tap "Forget This Network," then tap "Forget" to confirm.

The network will still be visible in the devices' list of visible networks. Still, the device will no longer automatically connect and will forget previously entered credentials required for manual connection.

Rejoining the Eduroam Network

Once you’ve removed the profile and forgotten the network, you can join it the same way you did originally, accepting the new profile in the process.
