In Scholar, students are only able to see courses which have been set to “available”. Courses are initially set to “unavailable” “Closed” so that instructors can prepare course shells before releasing them, and to make it obvious to students which of their courses are not using any of the Blackboard functions. In addition, some instructors may want to make a course “unavailable” at the end of the semester, or if major revisions are being made to the course. Ultra now has two options for these situations, which provide different levels of access:
- Listing a course as "Closed" will hide the course from students and make it inaccessible to them until it is opened again.
- Listing a course as "Complete" will allow students to see the course, but prevent them from making any more submissions.
There are two ways to make a alter course availableavailability. You can use the Qwickly module at the top of your CNU Scholar main page, or use the Customization menu within a course.mini-menu on the course itself.

Course Settings
The simplest way to make your a course available or unavailable is to use the lock button at the top of your course home page.
If the lock is unlocked (), your course is available. If it’s locked () your course is unavailable. Simply click the lock to change your course’s availability state.to students is from within your course. You'll see the course's opening status at the top right. Click it to open the course settings.
You'll see that the Close Course toggle is ON. This means that your course is unavailable to students.
Click it, and it'll turn off. This will make your course available to students.
Using Qwickly
If you want to make multiple courses available at once, you can use Qwickly. It is located near the bottom of the new navigation menu, under Tools. Select Tools, then Qwickly Tools from the resulting options.
