Start the process by clicking on the plus sign and choosing Auto-Generate Modules.

You can either enter the course description in the top box, or click on Select Course Items to associate it with your syllabus.

Check Include Images if you want the learning module to have AI-generated pictures, and select the number of learning modules that you'd like.

Once you have your settings set up, click Generate, and your modules will be generated (this may take some time).  Select the modules you'd like to add to your course and click "Add # to Course."

Your modules will then be added to your course and be ready for you to edit and add materials to.

Stock and Generated Images

Nearly anywhere that you can add an image to your course, you can use the Unsplash stock image library, or AI-generated images.  To get to either of these click the Image button in any text box.

In the menu, select the desired source of the image.

If you'd like to use stock images, choose "Stock images from Unsplash".

Once you do, you'll be able to search for and select a stock photo.

Click Next, and you'll be taken to a screen where you can adjust the image size.

Click Next once more, and you'll be taken to the standard Add Image screen.  Note that the alt text for your image has already been filled in.

To use an AI image generator, choose Generate an Image, then fill in your description of the image.

Select an image and click Next.

You can then zoom and change the shape of the image.

Generate Assignments or Discussion Prompts

The AI Design Assistant can also generate assignment instructions or discussion prompts.  To start the process, create an assignment or discussion as normal.  Then, click the "Auto-generate assignment" (or Auto-generate discussion) button.

Enter a description or keywords for the assignment and/or select one or more items of course content that you'd like the assignment to be based on.

You can then set the cognitive level of the assignment.  These levels are the standard Bloom's Taxonomy levels. If you don't know, choose "Inspire me!".

If you want a title to be generated as well, check the "Generate assignment title" box.

Click Generate, and you'll get three choices of assignments to create.

Choose one and click Add.  You can then edit the assignment.

You can also use the AI Design Assistant to generate test questions.  To do so, start a test like normal.  Click the plus sign in the middle and choose "Auto-generate question."

Just like with Assignments, you can either enter a basic description of what you'd like questions on, or link to items in your course you'd like to have questions generated for.

Select the question type you'd like to generate, or choose "Inspire me!" for a variety of question types.

Use the sliders to select the complexity level of the questions, and how many to generate at a time (you can always generate more).

Click Generate and you'll see the generated questions. Once you've verified them for accuracy, check the ones that you want and click "Add to Assessmsnent".
