Introduction

NAT or Network Address Translation is used to map multiple private IP Address to one or multiple Public IP Addresses, and is deployed as a function of the Christopher Newport Internet Firewall. Unfortunately, NAT type restrictions can wreak havoc with online game play for some gaming consoles and/or specific games. Due to Christopher Newport's security requirements we cannot enable port-forwarding or UPnP for individual student devices.

If you would like to change your NAT type, please follow the steps below to register your device for CNU-Res wireless access, once your devices has been successfully connected to the CNU-Res wireless network you will no longer have NAT issues.
