Adding images

All images must be saved for web before uploading to Cascade.

  • Navigate to the _images folder.
  • Select the appropriate primary subject matter folder where the new image should be housed
  • Click +Add Content at the top left
  • Select Folder with Image Block
  • Enter Folder Name and click Submit
  • The spell check dialogue box will appear, click the check mark in the top right if there are no errors
  • The _image block will automatically be generated within the folder you just created
  • While the new folder is selected, add the image file
    • Click +Add Content at the top left
    • Select Image File
    • A dialogue box will open
      • Click the blue choose to upload an image from your computer (the drag and drop option is finicky and doesn’t always work)
      • Browse to where you have the new image file saved and select it
      • Click open
      • Click the blue Preview Draft button at the top right
      • Make sure the image looks OK in the draft preview – you can always go back and edit it if something went wrong
      • If everything looks good, click the blue Submit button at the top
      • Enter any comments/changes you made/date you updated the image into the dialogue box and click Submit
  • Add the image metadata
    • Select the image block
    • Click Edit at to top right, or right-click and select Edit
    • Add the image alt text
  • Link the image to the block
    • Select Choose File below the appropriate image type (Inset Landscape Image, Headshot, etc.)
    • Browse to the file (it’s usually the top one under Recent) and select it
    • Click Choose
    • Click the three vertical dots at the top right
    • Enter any comments/changes you made and click Check Content and Submit
    • The spell check dialogue box will appear, click the check mark in the top right if there are no errors
  • Select the image file, click Publish at the top right and select all destinations where the image should get published

Note: embed.jpg images do not get linked to an image block.
