Use SPSS from off campus

First Time Setup
Before using SPSS off campus for the first time, you should confirm that your license is set up correctly. This must be done on-campus. If you just did this as part of installing SPSS, you can skip this step.
From the IBM SPSS Statistics folder on your computer, choose SPSS License Authorization Wizard.
The License Authorization Wizard will start. Choose “Concurrent user license” and click Next.
On the next screen, enter equity.cnu.edu in the box and click Next.
You’ll see a message that your license has been applied. Click Finish.
Checking out a License
Under “All Programs” -> IBM SPSS Statistics, choose IBM SPSS Statistics 23 Commuter License”.
You’ll be given options for a license. Choose your version of SPSS from the list.
Change the Duration to 7 days, and click “Check Out”
You’ll see a checkmark next to the license that you’ve checked out.
You’ll need to bring your computer to campus at least once a week to check out a new license.
Mac
First Time Setup
Before using SPSS off campus for the first time, you should confirm that your license is set up correctly. This must be done on-campus. If you just did this as part of installing SPSS, you can skip this step.
Go to Launchpad, and from the IBM (other) folder, choose IBM SPSS License Authorization Wizard.
The License Wizard will start. Click Next.
On the next screen, choose “Concurrent user license” and click Next.
In the box that comes up, enter equity.cnu.edu and click Next. You’ll be given your license.
License Checkout
To use SPSS outside of CNU’s network, you’ll have to check out a license. This must be done on campus.
From the Launchpad, click “IBM (Other)”
Then, choose “Commuter Utility”
Select the license for the SPSS software that you have, edit the “Duration (days) to 7, and Click “Check Out”. You will then be able to access SPSS from off campus.
You will see a check mark next to the license that you’ve checked out.
Your license will expire one week after you check it out. You’ll have to bring your computer to campus to check out a new license.
