  • Backing up your CNU Computer

    This article will provide detailed instructions and guidance on how to back up your CNU computer.

    These are general guidance articles as there is not a definitive way we suggest backing up your data, we just encourage everyone to backup their data or make sure it is hosted on \\files or Google Drive accordingly.      Instructions

    Windows backup methods and guidance:

    1. File History: To set up File History on a Windows 10 PC, connect your backup device, open Settings > Update & Security > Backup, and click Add a drive under the Back up using the File History header. Select the location you wish to use for your backups.

      1. This method requires an external hard drive to utilize the settings correctly.

    2. CNU Files Drive: You can utilize the CNU \\files drive to back up any local information you may have on your computer. This method involves selecting the files you wish to backup and then copying them into a newly created folder in your \\files\personal drive.     3. Google Desktop: We also make the Google Drive desktop application available to everyone via Self Service. This application allows you to sync your files to your Google account associated with CNU. For more information about this application, we’ve included a link to the Google site here.

     

    macOS backup methods and guidance:
