Use Local Administrator Rights for Macs

Once granted local Administrator rights on your Mac, you can access the ‘Request Admin Privileges’ feature through Jamf Connect!

Run Local Admin Rights

  1. Open Jamf Connect

    1. Click the Jamf Connect icon (three sails) in your Mac’s menu bar.

  2. Request Admin Privileges

    1. In the Jamf Connect menu, select “Request Admin Privileges.”

  3. Authenticate Your Request

    1. A new window will appear, prompting you to sign in with your email address and password.

    2. You will then be required to complete Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).

  4. Confirm Your Escalation Request

    1. If your account has the necessary permissions, you will be authenticated and asked to select a reason for the escalation.

  5. Temporary Administrator Access Granted

    1. Once confirmed, you will receive Administrator rights for 30 minutes.
