Torggler Fine Arts Center Simple Classroom AV Instructions

Many classrooms and lab spaces in the Torggler Fine Arts Center have simplified AV setups.  If you are teaching in a room with a full touchpanel, please see our standard classroom instructions.

The simplified rooms have a plate on the wall that will let you plug in your laptop.  While most are near the screen, some may be elsewhere in the room.  The plate has several inputs, but you will typically want to plug your computer into the HDMI input.

HDMI cables will be available in the Art Department office, but if you have a computer that does not have an HDMI or VGA output (like most Macs), you will be responsible for supplying your own adapter.

Once you've plugged in your computer, you can turn the system on using the power button on the control panel. Keep in mind that the control panel may not be near the plug-in plate. DO NOT attempt to control the room display directly on the TV.

The TV or projector will turn on, and should display your computer.  If it doesn't, check that the top-left button is pressed.
