Upload Files to the Content Collection
This document refers to accessing the Content Collection via a Scholar Original View course. For access via Ultra course or Ultra navigation, refer to the documentation here.
Access the Content Collection by clicking on the Content Collection link section of your Course Management tools. These can be accessed from inside any of your courses:
Navigate to the folder that you want to upload the files to. There are three top-level choices:
- My Content: Items you’ll use across multiple courses. This is tied to your login.
- Course Content: Items used in a single course. If you are enrolled in an Organization, you may also see Organization Content.
- Institution Content: Items shared with other departments. To get a folder in the Institution Content section, file a request with ITS.
You can create subfolders under each folder by clicking “Create Folder”
Then, give the folder a name and click “Submit”:
Historically, Blackboard provided a tool that allowed users to upload multiple files into the Content Collection via a drag-and-drop tool called the Multiple File Uploader. However, this tool required a Java browser plugin, which is no longer supported by most major browsers. As such, you will have to use the Single File Uploader to upload materials.
To access it, click “Upload Files” under the “Upload” menu.
You’ll be brought to the File Uploader. Click on “Browse” or “Choose File” (depending on your browser).
Select a file, and check the box below the browse button if you want it to overwrite an existing file (for example, if you have an assignment in the Content Collection that you’ve updated). Then click “Submit”. The file will be uploaded.
