Complete Resource Requests in ERS

As a Resource Provider, you may be required to perform certain actions in the new Employee Resource System (ERS) in order to manage employee Resources. This document outlines how to complete requests made by supervisors for the allocation of new resources to employees.  To locate request waiting for approval, select the Provider View after logging in.

Provider View will show a complete list of all pending requests in your queue. You will see the name and ID of the employee, the name of the resource being requested, any notes provided by the employee's supervisor, and the date by which the resource has been requested (late requests in your queue will also be marked.) To view a resource in more detail, click "Select" next to the resource in question.

You will then enter the pending request, and will be able to view the request in more detail. In order to approve and provision the resource to the employee, click "Provision."

A mini-window will open. This window contains two fields:

  • Notes is a space for the Provisioner to provide any relevant context for their approval.
  • If the resource request requires additional paperwork to be on record, it can be attached using the Attachment field. At this time, the Attachment field can only accept PDF files of less than 2 MB; make sure your files are in the appropriate filetype, and compress them before attaching if they exceed that size.

When you have filled out both fields, click "Submit" to complete the request.

You will then return to the request, which has been modified to show that the resource has been provisioned. At this point, no further action is required.

If it is necessary to deny a resource request, the option is also provided to Resource Providers to do so. When you enter the request, select "Deny Request" instead of "Provision."

A similar mini-window will open. This window will only contain the Notes field, which you can use to provide the reason the request is being denied. Once you have provided these notes, click "Submit" to complete the denial.

The resulting view of the resource request will then be labeled "Request Denied."
