For various reasons, you may need to change the required data and time of a test, the number of attempts allowed for the test, or completely exempt an assignment/test for one or more students.  To do so, you'll need to access the submissions area for the test/assignment.  You can do this by clicking on Submissions in the assignment/test.

You can also access it on the List View in the Gradebook.

Either way, you'll see the submissions.  Select the assignment/student until you have navigated to the student entry for the specific assignment in mind. Click the three dots next to the student that you'd like give the exemption/exception to open their options menu. To change the date/time for that student to take the test, or to give the student an extra attempt, choose "Add or Edit Exceptions".

You can then change the due date, the dates that the test/assignment is visible to the student, or the number of attempts that the student will have to take the test.
